Family of slain woman sues Citrus sheriff's office

July 11, 2014
Associated Press

INVERNESS, Fla. (AP) — The mother of a 27-year-old Citrus County Sheriff's Office informer killed during a drug deal in 2012 has filed a wrongful death suit against the agency.

Wendy Moore says the sheriff's office failed to protect the identity of her daughter, Jamie Lee Seeger, on the night of July 25, 2012, when she was fatally shot inside her car.

Moore's attorney Bill Grant announced on Friday that he had filed the lawsuit on behalf of Seeger's estate and was seeking to recover damages for the negligent homicide created by the sheriff's office.

Sheriff Jeff Dawsy declined to comment to the Tampa Bay Times (http://bit.ly/W4fdD0) on the lawsuit.
