Rotary Club of Cape Coral honors Gary Aubuchon

The Rotary Club of Cape Coral honored Gary Aubuchon with the first Service Above Self Award of the year. Aubuchon is a former member of the Florida House of Representatives, has been recognized by the American Red Cross of Lee County for his devotion to humanitarianism, and his company, Team Aubuchon, annually sponsors "Helping Hands for the Holidays" benefiting Make-A-Wish Southern Florida, Ronald McDonald House Charities of SWFL and Lee County Builders Care.

The Service Above Self Award recognizes non-Rotarian individuals / business persons who exemplify the standards of business represented by the Rotary Four Way Test. The award is given out on a quarterly basis, with each recipient receiving a plaque and a three-month complimentary Rotary membership.

Aubuchon was nominated by Rotary member Paul Sanborn. He describes Aubushon as a true community leader.

"Although he probably doesn't know it, I believe Gary lives the four-way test every day," Sanborn said.

Aubuchon was recognized and received his award during the Rotary club's morning meeting.

Rotary Club of Cape Coral is a not-for-profit organization responsible for several community projects and events, including the Cape Coral Festival of the Arts, the Cardboard Boat Regatta, a dictionary project for third graders and Rotary Park in downtown Cape Coral. During its 50-year history, Rotary Club of Cape Coral has been one of the most influential service organizations in Southwest Florida and has counted among its members many of Lee County's finest community and business leaders.
