Leslie (Laszlo) Horvay, 93, of Cape Coral, was called home to heaven after a short battle with pancreatic cancer Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014. A loving father and husband, he was born May 31, 1921, in Budapest (Pest), Hungary. After World War II, he relocated to Hamburg, Germany, where he met and married Agnes Fliegel. They emigrated to the U.S. in 1949 and then settled in Cleveland, Ohio.
Mr. Horvay was a skilled tool and die maker and worked in his field for Ford Motor Company for over 30 years. He also pursued his love of electronics, starting his own business, County TV, in Brunswick, Ohio, where he lived and raised his family.
He always had a passion for living by the water and upon retirement, he and Agnes moved to Cape Coral. He lived in Cape Coral for over 33 years where he joined the German American Social Club and was an honorary lifetime member. He maintained and expanded the club's sound system for over 20 years and was nominated for the Prince Award. He served his community where he lived with great pride, serving on the board of directors for his homeowner's association. He also belonged to the Tarpon Fishing Club. Mr. Horvay always had a kind word for everyone and always said "Life is Beautiful."
