FGCU's women's soccer team rode another game-winning goal by Tabby Tindell to record its third victory of the season by blanking Florida International 2-0 on Wednesday.
The Eagles' 3-1 start is the program's best since 2011 when they started 4-1.
Tindell's goal was her fourth of the season and it Paulina Speckmaier added the insurance goal, her second of the season, midway through the second half. Tindell assisted on the goal.
Tindell has now provided the game-winning goal in all three victories. Goalkeeper Brittany Brown faced nine shots and needed to make just three saves to pick up her first shutout of 2014.
"I'm super pleased with our performance tonight," head coach Jim Blankenship said. "It was a professional result especially on the road when you come into a tough place to win and an even tougher place to get a shutout. We were really good defensively and, hopefully, we can build on that going forward."
The Eagles return home to host Murray State at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
