John William Witt, also known as "Froggy," 68, a Cape Coral resident for almost eight years, formerly of Shelby, Mich., passed away Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014 in Cape Coral. He was born in Mt. Clemens, Mich., June 15, 1946, to Alton and Dorothy Witt, now deceased.
He was of the Baptist faith. He was in construction his whole life. He was always a happy go lucky kind of guy and a good friend to all. But most important he was Marjorie's partner for life, but now he's the angel watching over her.
He is survived by his beloved life partner of 11 years, Marjorie J. Bour of Cape Coral; seven children, Sue Fostor (Allen) of Brown City, Mich., Karen McPhail (Rick) also of Brown City, Mich., John "JR" Witt of Sarasota, Fla., Scott Witt of Texas, Thomas L. Pickett of Grosse Pointe, Mich., Melissa A. Pickett of Utica, Mich., and Nathan A. Pickett (Kristen) of Warren, Mich.; three siblings, Janice Rosso (Lyle) of Sandusky, Mich., MaryAnn Cargill of Shelby Township, Mich., and Gary Witt (Michelle) also of Shelby Township, Mich. his aunt ,Marty Miller of Shelby Township, Mich.; 16 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; as well as his best friend and dog, Muffin Marie Bour.
Memorial services will be held in Michigan at a later date; day, time and location to be announced.
