To the editor:
As a resident of the Cape Coral Yacht Club area, let me tell you how embarrassed I am as a resident of that area. Just drive down toward the Yacht Club on Coronado and cross over El Dorado - the state of the boulevards is embarrassing. The weeds have now overtaken any resemblance of grass or flower beds. For such a special area of Cape Coral, it's not exactly a warm, fuzzy feeling driving into that area.
Take a drive down Pelican or Chiquita towards Cape Harbour or Tarpon Point and look at the nice warm reception you get with the manicured boulevards and trees and shrubs. How about sharing the wealth with one of Cape Coral's little jems - The Yacht Club/Beach Area, New Boathouse Restaurant and Public Pier -"tourist attraction."
As a taxpayer, I'm sure the small expenditure to clean and maintain these boulevards in the Yacht Club area would provide a better return on their investment than others. How many tourists travel Coronado south of the Cape Coral Parkway to get to the Yacht Club -to spend money!!
Sincerely - a concerned taxpayer from the poor sister's part of Cape Coral.
