D.R. Horton's Southwest Florida Division last week announced the new community of Lindsford opened Aug. 16, with special pre-construction pricing now available. Additionally, three decorated models will be unveiled in this gated community.

With 15 home plans to choose from, ranging from approximately 1,585 to 4,377 square feet of living space and prices starting in the $200,000s, Lindsford provides the opportunity to buy a new single-family home within a gated community off Winkler Avenue, close to I-75, U.S. 41, and the historic River District of downtown Fort Myers.

Grimes to address REIS

The latest outlook for the local housing market will be presented by Denny Grimes, a leading residential real estate expert, at the Tuesday, Sept. 9, luncheon meeting of the Real Estate Investment Society.

The presentation will look at the relationships between existing home sales and new construction. Grimes will also provide insight on economic influences, including availability of financing, interest rates and the job market. Current statistical data will be delivered with a street-level understanding of the dynamics between buyers and sellers. Following the presentation, Grimes will respond to specific questions from the attending real estate development and investment professionals.

Grimes, CRS, ABR, CDPE, MBA, is president of Denny Grimes & Company, a real estate brokerage based in Fort Myers. He has over 30 years' experience in the local residential real estate market and his firm is known for short sales expertise, new construction for buyers, and investor counseling.

Conference & Trade Expo

Jackie Krupp, CNE, a licensed real estate professional at Jones & Co. Realty in Fort Myers, attended Florida Realtors 98th annual Conference & Trade Expo held Aug. 13-17th, at Rosen Shingle Creek resort in Orlando.

The conference brings Realtors from around the state to discuss and vote on key issues that shape the profession and state association.

Members attended more than 30 education sessions with varying topics including lead conversion, property management, the newest trends in Real estate and developing a productive team.

Real estate professionals also took advantage of this year's Trade Expo featuring more than 150 exhibitors with the latest products, technology and business tools.
