To the editor:
Is it any wonder that the respect rating for the United States Congress continues to sink.
Recently, Senators Reid, Udall, Schumer, Durbin and Murray took the time to step to the podium for the purpose of criticizing the decision of the Supreme Court in the Hobby Lobby case. The Court decided that the government cannot force a family owned business to provide contraceptive coverage against its religious beliefs. The bill also would have required employers to cover all forms of contraception, as mandated in the Obama care act, regardless of conscience objections. The Supreme Court of course did the right thing.
Yes, despite some idiot senators railing for another attack on our religious freedoms, there is no doubt that this was a decision that stood tall for morality. With huge issues looming for the Congress...Government scandals galore, our borders unsecure, our home-front in turmoil, and fires raging around the world...these five pin-heads have nothing better to do then to involve themselves with contraception. If it wasn't such a sad commentary on Democrat disgrace...we could find humor is this kind of half-wit behavior. Sadly, however, no humor here. These senators and others have no conception of what their job is about and it's scary to think that this bunch just might lead the United States into oblivion.
Before voting for any candidate in the next election it's important to know how they stand in the Hobby Lobby case.
Our only hope is to get all the wackos out of Washington and make sure that every elected official accepts the fact that our national motto reads "In God We Trust" and religious freedom along with morality are two of the cornerstones of our democracy.
Shame on the five Senators who have placed politics over all that America stands for.
