Frank Thomas, 92, of Cape Coral, died Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014. He was born in Hibbing, Minn., served his country in the U.S. Army in World War II, graduating with an engineering degree from Michigan Tech University. He was co-owner of Northstar Associates in St. Paul, Minn.
His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his wife and best friend of 60 years, Elaine, who preceded him in death. He was known as a gentleman and fitness enthusiast with a positive outlook and zest for life. He enjoyed bowling, playing bridge and especially competitive amateur golf. He was an active member at Palmetto Pines Country Club. He took enormous pride in the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by son, Scott (Lelah) Thomas; daughter, Gail (Allan) Offringa; three grandchildren, Frankie Thomas, Olivia and Abigail Offringa; as well as his dear friend, Betty Knapp. His amazing spirit and love will be missed by all who knew him.
Services will be private.
