Thomas H. Emmerson, 73, passed away Friday, Aug. 8, 2014, at his home in Cape Coral. He was a man of great empathy and compassion and remained as sharp and quick witted as ever, continuing to make pants for oysters, reminiscing about Burt and Lonnie, and daring any crossword puzzle or crypto quip to cross his path. He etched his legacy on the hearts of those who knew him, and his humor and intellect will forever be remembered by family and friends.
He was born March 14, 1941, in Long Beach, Calif. As an infant, he moved to
Canon City, Colo., and graduated from Canon City High School in 1959. He earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Colorado, Boulder, and his law degree from the University of New Mexico. He practiced law and raised his family with pride and love in Kansas City before moving to Florida in 2004.
