The Florida Everblades added two more players to its roster Wednesday for the upcoming ECHL season.
Defenseman Jordan Henry returns to the team for another season along with forward Mike Cichy, who just finished his collegiate career at Western Michigan University.
Henry, 28, returns to Southwest Florida having totaled 23 points (9g,14a) and a +9 rating in 34 games with the Everblades last season. In addition, the 6-foot-2, 198-pound blueliner logged an assist in 19 appearances with the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League last season as well.
"Jordan is a real leader, and will be a top defenseman for us next season," said Everblades coach Greg Poss. "He brings a lot of AHL experience to our roster and we are thrilled to have him back."
Cichy, 24, posted eight points (2g,6a) in 34 games at Western Michigan last season. The 5-foot-11, 186-pounder rang up 18 points (4g,14a) with the Broncos during the 2012-13 season. In 2009-11 Cichy played at the University of North Dakota.
"Mike is a first-year pro who has a lot of skill," said Poss. "We expect him to further develop his game at the pro-level, and we believe his best hockey is still to come."
The team is hosting an open house this Saturday from 2-5 p.m. Catch the action as free agents compete for a chance to be invited to the Blades' training camp in October.
