In three short days, participating McDonald's restaurants in Collier, Charlotte, Hendry and Lee counties, as well as two restaurants in North Port, collected school supplies from generous patrons.

"Though my kids are grown, I saw how important it was for them to be prepared with the tools they needed for success right out of the gate," said Tom Fewster, local McDonald's owner/operator. "As an operator, it's important that I can continue to support my community and the school supply drive has been a great way to do that. Our customers came out in droves over the weekend, and for that, we're grateful."

"The area McDonald's have been very supportive of The Foundation's mission to enhance and enrich the quality of public education so that our students and teachers can excel, and we are so grateful for the many local operators who came together to help us with this school supply drive," said Marshall T. Bower, president and CEO of the Foundation for Lee County Public Schools. "Whether it is our Golden Apple Teacher Recognition Program, Classroom Grants, or helping to provide our students with school supplies, McDonald's, and the Fewster family in particular, has always been a great community partner!"
