Flying Tigers drop Miracle, 4-0, in rain-shortened game
Bailey tosses five scoreless innings, allows one hit
LAKELAND - The Lakeland Tigers defeated the Fort Myers Miracle 4-0 in a rain-shortened game Saturday night.
The Tigers scored three runs in the first inning off Miracle starter Brett Lee. Harold Castro led off with a single into left field. Curt Powell then walked and Connor Harrell doubled in a run with a line drive into right-center field. Austin Green added a RBI on a sacrifice fly to right and Jeff McVaney followed with a run-scoring single through the left side of the infield to lead 3-0.
Lakeland added a run in the bottom of the fourth inning. Jared Reaves led off with a single to left field. After Chad Wright lined out to second, Tyler Hanover doubled down the line in left to drive in Reaves for the final run of the game.
In the middle of the fifth inning, lightning and rain halted play. The storm prevented baseball from resuming at Joker Marchant Stadium.

The Miracle (65-45, 24-17) return at 1 p.m. Sunday against the Tigers (54-53, 13-28).
