Evelyn Marie Wedler, 87, entered Heaven's gates peacefully Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at Hope Hospice House in Cape Coral.
She was born Dec. 11, 1926, in St. Louis, Mo. At an early age she became an accomplished concert pianist. She won many awards and enjoyed teaching others through her love of music.
In 1971 she moved to Fort Myers with her husband, Robert G. Wedler, and then relocated to Cape Coral in 1986. They enjoyed living an active Florida lifestyle, fishing, swimming, tennis and dancing. They also loved traveling together to the Caribbean and Central American countries, studying ancient Mayan and Pre-Columbian cultures.

She had an unwavering faith in God and a love for life. She attended Crosspoint Christian Church and was even re-baptized by immersion on Mother's Day 2013, at the age of 86.
She is survived by her loving and dedicated son, Brent G. Wedler (Karen); three granddaughters, Kimberly Feikert (Adam), Shawna Fernandez (Christian) and Melanie Peetz (Ryan); as well as seven great-grandchildren, Tyler, Trinity and Tobin Feikert; Christian and Gabe Fernandez, and Kolby and Ella Peetz, all whom she lovingly adored.
She was preceded by her loving husband of 58 years, Robert G. Wedler, in 2007, and by her first grandchild, Derek Brent Wedler, in 1975.
A Celebration of Her Life will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, July 26, at Crosspoint Christian Church, 204 S.W. 11th Place, Cape Coral.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to either Hope Hospice of Cape Coral or Crosspoint Christian Church.
