Cecile Thompson Carpenter, 77, a Cape Coral resident since 1985, formerly of Corinth, Ky., passed Sunday, July 13, 2014, in Cape Coral. She was born May 14, 1937, in Clay County, Ky., to Irwin and Flara Thompson, now deceased.
She was a member of Cape Christian Fellowship. She was a sincere and unique woman. Once you met her, you would never forget her. She took in anyone who needed a mother figure or extra love and guidance. She will be remembered for her big heart and her beautiful smile.
Mrs. Carpenter is survived by her three children, Gary Carpenter, Roy Carpenter Jr. of Belle Glade, Fla., and Kimberly Lucas (Christopher) of Cape Coral; four siblings, Novella Hitt (Don) of Hamilton, Ohio, Eugene Thompson (Veeda) of Hamilton, Ohio, Bernice Clemmons of Hamilton, Ohio, and James Thompson (Caroline) of Hot Springs, Ark.; six grandchildren, Jason, Angela, Shanda, Rhonda, Madison and Camden; two great-grandchildren, Chasity and Kiana; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; a special nephew, Doug Thompson; as well as Lacey and Harley, the dogs.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Carpenter, in 1980, and a daughter, Cynthia Carpenter.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, Aug. 9, at Seminole Campground for close friends and family.
