The Florida Everblades agreed to contract terms Wednesday with high-scoring forward Mitch Wahl for the 2014-15 season.

Wahl, 24, will join the Blades after posting 56 points (17g, 39a) in 65 games with the Idaho Steelheads of the ECHL last season. In addition, Wahl was tops in the ECHL in power-play points with 27.

The 6-foot, 205-pound Wahl finished the 2012-13 season as the leading scorer for the Utah Grizzlies with 59 points (19g, 40a).

"Mitch will be a top offensive player for us, who also can provide some leadership for our team," said Everblades coach Greg Poss. "If you look at his production the past couple of seasons, he has been one of the leading scorers of the teams he has played for."

Wahl amassed 223 career points during his four-year junior career with the Spokane Chiefs (WHL). He was a member of Spokane's Memorial Cup Championship team in 2008.

The California native was selected by the Calgary Flames in the second round of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
