Everblades release schedule

June 6, 2014
Special to the Breeze , Cape Coral Daily Breeze

The Florida Everblades released their game schedule for the 2014-15 ECHL regular season on Wednesday.

The Everblades play a 72-game schedule comprised of 36 home and 36 road dates. They open the season at Germain Arena on Friday, Oct. 17, against the South Carolina Stingrays.

Forty-one (41) of the 72 regular season games will be played against South Division opponents. Florida plays 13 of its home games on Friday, 13 on Saturday, and 10 on Wednesday.

Everblades fans also have the opportunity to see the expansion Indianapolis Fuel at Germain Arena on Dec. 12 & 13.

All weekday and Friday home games begin at 7:30 p.m., with all Saturday home dates dropping the puck at 7 p.m.

Earlier this week, the Everblades announced their list of 19 protected players. The list consists of two goaltenders, eight defensemen and nine forwards. It's the first of a three-step process ECHL teams use to reserve rights to ECHL contracted players for 2014-15.

The Everblades protected (goaltenders) Any Iles, Trevor Can, (defensemen) Mike Cornell, Jordan Henry, Joe Steiskal, Rob Kweit, Tyson Gimblett, Cameron Burt, Tony DeHart, Bryce Lampman, (forwards) Trevor Bruess, Mathieu Roy, Philip-Michael Devos, Evan Bloodoff, Aaron Bogosian, Brandon MacLean, A.J.Jenks, Matthew Pistilli and Leigh Salters.

Teams are allowed to protect as many players as they want provided the players meet the guidelines as defined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Everblades ticket packages for next season are available now for full season, 12- and 24-game options.
