Francioni senior vice president for The Smart Companies of Fort Myers

Joseph Francioni has been promoted to senior vice president for The Smart Companies in Fort Myers, announced company CEO Brian Rist. Francioni is responsible for helping to guide the continued success & growth of the corporation.

Francioni joined The Smart Companies last June as the company comptroller. Before joining The Smart Companies, Francioni owned and operated Innovative Printing and Signs in Cape Coral for five years before selling the company. The company earned numerous industry recognitions and community awards including Cape Coral Construction Industry Association's Affiliate of the Year Award.

Prior to that, he was chief financial officer and chief operations officer at C A Wunder Engineering Inc. in Cape Coral for 10 years. The structural engineering firm offered services from site planning and design to energy calculations for commercial and residential customers in Lee, Charlotte and Collier counties.

Francioni is a 21-year resident of Cape Coral, and is active in the Chamber of Commerce of Cape Coral and the Cape Coral Construction Industry Association. He is a member of the board of directors of those organizations and serves on several committees.

E$P at Dress for Success

SW Florida this Saturday

Barbara Dell, executive director of Dress for Success SW Florida, has announced that the Entrepreneurial Spirit Program (E$P) will be held for women who would like to start their own business. It is open to the public and will be held from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday May 10, at Dress for Success, at 12995 S. Cleveland Ave., Suite 152. Registration is required and seating is limited. The mission of E$P is to provide women with information, resources and the tools needed to start a small business. E$P teaches basic business skills, reviews different business opportunities, develops a marketing plan and shares sources of information.

Pollo Tropical restaurant

opens today in Fort Myers

The newest Pollo Tropical restaurant will be opening in Fort Myers today, May 9, at 9321 B.C. Pratt Six Mile Cypress Parkway with an all-day beach party to celebrate the occasion. One lucky guest from the first 100 guests in line will be chosen to win Free Pollo Tropical for a Year! The new Pollo Tropical is Southwest Florida's fifth location for the Miami born Caribbean-inspired restaurant chain.

Fifth Third Bank collects 6,640 pounds of food

for Salvation Army

Over 949,910 South Florida residents do not have consistent access to vital nutrition and food each and every day. To help reduce this number, Fifth Third Bank (South Florida) recently partnered with The Salvation Army to collect non-perishable food items at financial centers in Lee County through the annual "Feeding our Communities" food drive.

Fifth Third Bank (South Florida) collected 6,640 pounds of food exceeding its goal of 5,300 pounds. The food collected throughout the drive equals 26,560 meals for families in seven counties.

"Feeding our Communities" is a component of Fifth Third Day (May 3), an annual event when the bank celebrates its heritage by giving back to the community. Fifth Third Bank (South Florida)'s partnership with The Salvation Army serves to address the effects of critical issues plaguing the state: hunger and homelessness.
