To the editor:
Since moving to Cape Coral several years ago, I am still amazed that people do not take pride in their neighborhoods.
As I walk and cycle around seeing trash in the swales and vacant lots next to homes and businesses, I wonder to myself is it so hard to take a couple of minutes to pick up litter? It's bad enough with overgrown lots, foreclosed homes, and lack of mature trees and foliage (especially in the northeast/northwest), but let us all at least attempt to lessen the problems.
Also, on a separate issue, the city is always talking about luring businesses to the Cape, but with few exceptions, do we really need "hundreds" of dollar stores and convenience stores??? Are these the businesses we need and want here? Just a thought.....
