The congregation of Hope United Methodist Church in Cape Coral welcomed the Rev. Bob Wall as their new interim pastor Easter Sunday.
Wall is a resident of Fort Myers, but comes to Southwest Florida from the Dakotas Conference of the United Methodist Church.
Wall, and his wife, Gerrie, have three married daughters who live in South Dakota, Montana and Illinois. Gerrie is a retired teacher from the South Dakota Technical School system.
Rev. Bob Wall
He was ordained in 1978 and has served churches in Minnesota, South Dakota and Montana. His major focus in recent pastorates has been helping churches in transitional ministry between appointed or installed pastors.
"The period of time between pastors is a fertile time to guide a church through the process of renewing self-awareness on the part of a congregation and to identify areas where God may be calling the church as it looks forward to its future" said Rev. Wall.
The church will be beginning a major program entitled "Back to the Future" in June. This process is designed to guide the congregation members in identifying who they are, where they are and where they see themselves going in the years ahead.
Wall has used this program effectively in all the churches he has served in an interim capacity.
Hope United Methodist is at 2006 Chiquita Blvd. and has its morning worship service at 10:30 Sunday.
