A 15-month -old baby was among four people seriously injured in a crash between two pickup trucks Saturday morning in Lehigh Acres.

Shortly after 7 a.m., deputies responded to the scene on State Road 82 between Sunshine Boulevard and Alabama Road. Due to the nature of the crash, deputies with the Lee County Sheriff's Office Traffic Homicide Unit assumed the investigation.

The investigation reveals that a 2000 red Ford 150, driven by Victor Perez Gomez, 34, of Immokalee was travelling westbound on State Road 82. A 2004 black Chevrolet 1500, driven by Bryan Stevens, 18, of 825 Sea Urchin Circle, Fort Myers, was travelling eastbound on State Road 82. The vehicle operated by Stevens entered the other vehicle's lane of travel and the two trucks collided nearly head on, officials said in a statement released by the Lee County Sheriff's Office Saturday.

The drivers of both vehicles suffered serious injuries. Two back seat passengers in the red Ford, Albertina Ortiz Gomez, 31, and Anna Marie Gomez, 15 months, of Immokalee suffered serious and potentially life threatening injuries. Anna Marie Gomez was not restrained at the time of the crash, officials said.

"The driver of the black Chevrolet, Stevens, was found at fault," according to the statement.

Alcohol was not a factor in the crash. The investigation is continuing.
