Harold Spector

Harold Spector, 74, of Fort Myers, passed away March 31, 2014. He was born in Philadelphia Aug. 6, 1939, a son of Morris and Ruth Spector and son-in-law of Nathan and Claire Weiss, now deceased.

He was an Army veteran and the founder of the original Sun Control Aluminum Co. Inc., located in Cape Coral, which he ran with his family for over 25 years, as well as Curtis Allen Designs located in Fort Myers. He was also a past president of the Aluminum Association of Lee County.

He was the starting force behind the boat canopy group of Cape Coral which led to the approval for many boat canopy owners. He always fought for what he felt was right and would stand behind his family and friends. He loved cars, motorcycles, speed boats and fishing. He just loved life.

He is survived by his wonderful wife and best friend, Anita Spector; his four children, Jeffery Spector, Terry Murnane, Susan Martini and Wendy Kray; his baby sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Lorry Delman; his younger brother and sister-in-law, Allen and Phyllis Spector; brother and sister-in-law, Jay and Debbi Weiss; brother-in-law Alan Weiss (now deceased) and sister-in-law, Barbara Weiss; his sons-in-law, Curtis Wheeler-Scott, Darren Martini, John Kray and Patrick Murnane. He had nine grandchildren, Gillian Spector and Bryan Sprague, Alexa Spector, Chad Murnane, Aaron Murnane, Erica and Caleb Campbell (Martini), Gabrielle Martini and Conrad Kray. He has one great-granddaughter, Caylee Spector, and a great-grandson on the way, Logan Harold Spector; plus his beloved pets, Izzy and Pickles and, the late, Bandit and Pepper Spector.

He discovered a passion later in life for painting and spending time at their home in Waynesville, N.C.

A private celebration of Harold's life will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to the wonderful people of the Hospice House at HealthPark in Fort Myers, Fla.
