Peter A. Haren, 78, from Pearl River, N.Y., retired to Cape Coral, was surrounded by his loving family when he passed away on Easter, April 20, 2014. He was the son of Peter and Catherine (McElwain) Haren. He was predeceased by his parents and his twin sisters, Maureen and Kathleen.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Nora (Ryan) Haren; his four children, Michael and his fianc, Ellen Serret, Sean, Kathleen (Raymond) Curry, Nora (Daniel) Reilly; five grandchildren Sean, Shannon, Jack, Emily and Ryan; and his niece, Joanne Binder.
He was a highly decorated FDNY firefighter for 22 years. He also served two years with the U.S. Navy and 30 years with Local 46th Metallic Lathers. He will be remembered for his infectious smile and will forever be in the hearts of those who loved him and he will always be our hero and Nora's honey bunny.

A visitation will be held at the Wyman Fisher Funeral Home, 100 Franklin Ave, Pearl River, N.Y., Friday, April 25, from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, April 26, at the St. Margaret's Roman Catholic Church beginning at 10 am.
