Wesley Gurley, 86, of Cape Coral, passed away Friday, April 18, 2014, in Cape Coral. He was a retired supervisor with Bessmer Iron Co. and a longtime member of Temple Baptist Church, North Fort Myers. He loved to bowl at Friendship Lanes and was a proud World War II veteran of the U.S. Army. He was born Oct. 4, 1927, in Oneonta, Ala., to Wiley Gurley and Ada Phillips Gurley.
He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Shirley Karg Gurley. By his first marriage, he is survived by his daughter, Robin Dorow and three sons, James Gurley, Gregory Gurley and Jeffrey Gurley. He is also survived by 5 stepchildren, Mark Senter, Valerie Senter, Michael Senter, Marianne Kenney and Heather Jones; his sister, Sarah Richardson; his brother, John Gurley; five grandchildren, 11 step-grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and five step-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6:30-7 p.m., with funeral services at 7 p.m., Wednesday, April 23, at Temple Baptist Church, 18841 State Road 31, North Fort Myers. Entombment will be at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens.
