To the editor:
Who is charge in Cape Coral?
Is the city council in charge, or the city manager, or the mayor?
It looks like none of the above. It is the unions and city employees.
The city council members are wimps, and the mayor has no backbone or they would stop the assessments, and the city manager doesn't have a clue.
Not one of these people have tried to cut waste in the Cape Coral - $350 million in pensions debt, a water park that has not had a profit since it opened, and what is the city doing with a portable "movie house"? Then look at the salaries of the fire and police officials -how many of them are making over a hundred thousand per year? And don't forget the city manager; we are paying for his car. What is all that about.
Now in the Cape we have tax on phone, cable, electric and fire service. What is next - a tax on the air in Cape Coral?
Wake up, City Hall, when are you going to make the cuts you need to make?
