The Cape Coral Seahawks extended their current winning streak to seven games Wednesday night in a marathon 11-3 victory at North Fort Myers.
A four-run first inning staked the Seahawks to an early lead which they never relinquished. By the third inning they held an 8-1 advantage.
Winning pitcher Kyle Arjona (5-1) tossed four innings allowing two runs on four hits with six strikeouts. Josh Feliciano pitched two innings in relief, allowing one run on one hit with two strikeouts. Tyler Tognarine came on in the seventh to finish off the Red Knights.
Luke Spangler led the Seahawks' productive 11-hit offense with a pair of base hits with one RBI and scoring two runs. Scotty Dudas contributed an RBI triple and scored twice.
The Seahawks (18-4) finish off the regular season on Friday against Island Coast at 3 p.m. at Hammond Stadium in a preliminary game to the Fort Myers Miracle's game against St. Lucie that night.
Charlotte 13, Mariner 3: Tim Watters surrendered three earned runs on seven hits and struck out two over 4 2/3 innings in Mariner's six-inning loss at Charlotte on Wednesday.
Charlotte's four-run uprising in the third inning erased the Tritons' three-run lead. The Pirates scored 13 unanswered runs, including three in the fifth and six in the sixth inning to bring the 10-run mercy rule into effect after six innings.
Mason Eicher led the Tritons offense with one hit and one RBI.
The Tritons (13-11) play at Island Coast on Thursday in their regular season finale.
