Tritons, Bulldogs tumble

Mariner was held to four base hits in a 6-2 loss to Lehigh Monday night in a makeup of a rained out game.

Tim Watters started and lasted three innings, surrendering three hits and no earned runs with one strikeout. Mason Eicher (0-1) absorbed the loss in relief pitching two innings allowing four hits, no earned runs and two strikeouts.

The Tritons (12-9) play host to Gulf Coast on Tuesday.

Estero 11, Ida Baker 6: Ida Baker opened a 6-0 lead early only to let it melt away late in a loss to Estero Monday night.

Jordan Pinto took the loss pitching five innings, allowing five runs, three earned, on seven hits with six strikeouts. Cameron Farmer and Pinto collected two hits apiece, each with doubles and two RBI for Pinto.

The Bulldogs (5-12) play at Riverdale on Tuesday,

Softball

Barron Collier 4, North Fort Myers 0: Single runs in the first and fifth innings were all Barron Collier would need Monday in a victory at North Fort Myers.

The Cougars added a pair of runs in the seventh inning to seal the win.

The Red Knights (17-2) left the bases loaded in the fourth inning and nine overall in just their second defeat of the season. Mackenzie Peterson (12-2) struck out six in her second loss of the season.

Sarah Waitekus contributed two hits for the Knights, who did not have an exta-base hit.

The Knights (17-2) host Oasis on Tuesday before embarking on the Longshore Tournament in Naples Thursday against Miami Westminster.
