To the editor:
Anyone that knows Lizbeth Benacquisto knows that she's the type of person that looks for the things she has in common with others; that she genuinely takes an interest in helping them; and, that she works tirelessly for her constituents. This has been shown in the way she has performed in this campaign for U.S. Congress. She is placing her Senate duties ahead of campaigning. Her opponents have criticized her for not being at forums. In other words, they're saying that if they were in her position they would put their own ambition before that of the interests of their constituents.
That's the difference between someone that's running to fulfill ambition and someone that's running to serve. The ambitious person goes to forums and people like Lizbeth do what they were elected to do.
I first met Lizbeth when she called to volunteer to help The Salvation Army provide evening meals to the homeless at the Meals with Compassion program. With no fanfare, on multiple occasions, Lizbeth, with her children, came to help serve those in need. She helped with a compassionate heart to help those who were struggling to make ends meet. I've worked with her to help support the Bob Janes Triage Center, a nationally acclaimed residential program; a place for individuals who are at risk for committing minor non-violent crimes, and who have suffered a behavioral health crisis.
Senate Majority Leader, Consensus builder, PACE Center for Girls supporter, Salvation Army supporter, etc. I have come to realize that it is time that the negatives are put in the past and that people like me that really know Lizbeth and have seen her in action, speak to her proven performance. She is the real thing!
