Arthur Earle Tate, 66, a Cape Coral resident for over 50 years, passed away Monday, March 31, 2014, in Cape Coral. He was born July 14, 1947 in Dothan, Ala., to Rufuss and Lossie Tate, now deceased.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army and was a member of Cape Christian Fellowship. He enjoyed driving his 1978 Silver Anniversary Edition Chevrolet Corvette. As well, he loved spending time with his grandchildren as they were the love of his life.
He is survived by his beloved wife of over 36 years, Gloria Tate of Cape Coral; daughter, Sheryl Tate (Scott) Salanda of Cape Coral; three grandchildren, Evan Arthur, Kaitlyn Jean and Joseph Scott, all of Cape Coral; the entire Raso family; as well as lifelong friends, John and Sue Doolittle of North Fort Myers.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Joe Tate, David Tate and Dr. Robert Tate.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, April 6, at Cape Christian Fellowship, 2110 Chiquita Blvd., Cape Coral, with Dr. Jay Strack officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 2 p.m. until the hour of service.
