Jean's Painted Palms, owned by Jean Stanish, has opened at 1059 N.E. Pine Island Road, Unit #1, Cape Coral. Operating hours are by appointment.

Stanish offers painted palm fronds. The subjects are fish, mermaids and wild animals. Every one is painted by Stanish and available for sale. Painting classes and workshops will be offered in the near future.

Burger and Bubbles

at Promenade

The re-opening of Promenade at Bonita Bay will be celebrated with the ultimate burger competition - Burgers and Bubbles, beginning at 2 p.m., April 12. Enjoy unlimited burgers and beverage samplings from 16 of Southwest Florida's top restaurants and a variety of craft beers, champagne, sparking wine and craft sodas. The event also includes:

Food and beverage seminars, live music and entertainment, kids' activities (kids under age of 4 are free!), celebrity judges and trophies will be awarded for the best burger and best alternative burger!

A portion of proceeds will benefit the Bonita Springs Assistance office in celebration of their 35th anniversary.

Aguirre named Southwest Florida

consumer market manager for Bank of America

Bank of America has named Mary Aguirre its consumer market manager in the Southwest Florida market. In this role, she will lead 16 banking center teams in providing area customers with personal banking mortgage, investment and small business products and services.

Aguirre joined Bank of America in 2005 as a manager of the South Coral Springs Banking Center. Most recently, she was the Peppertree Banking Center leader in north Broward County. While in Broward County, Aguirre served as the bank's chairperson of community events for the Hispanic Organization for Leadership and Development (HOLA). She was also the captain for Financial Literacy in Broward County.

Royal tabbed to oversee

mortgage lending teams for Encore Bank

SRMA to host Made

in SWFL on April 16

The Southwest Regional Manufacturers Association will hold its premiere inaugural event, Made in SWFL, taking place 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Wednesday, April 16, at Harborside Event Center in downtown Fort Myers. STEM students from all schools are invited to attend a special interactive presentation from 9:30 a.m. to noon with a reservation.

From noon until 5 p.m., the public is invited to attend the Made in Southwest Florida Showcase. Admission is free with a business card, $5 without. Exhibitor booths and sponsorships are still available, but selling quickly.

Manufacturing has solidly established itself as a driving force in the local economy, and the Made in SWFL show shines a much deserved spotlight on this "unsung hero" sector, which is enhancing diversity and opportunity in the region.

Crowne Plaza host hotel

for Patty Berg tournament

The Crowne Plaza Hotel at the Bell Tower Shops will serve as the host hotel for the Inaugural Chico's Patty Berg Memorial Golf Tournament from April 28 to May 4.

The tournament will take place at Cypress Lake Country Club in Fort Myers and is part of the Symetra Tour, the official developmental tour of the Ladies Profes-sional Golf Association Tour.

The Chico's Patty Berg Memorial Golf Tournament, which pays homage to one of the LPGA Tour founders and Fort Myers resident, the late Patty Berg, will be played on the Dick Wilson designed course which opened in 1959.
