Port Charlotte shut out Island Coast Friday night 4-0 to close out spring break.

The Gators managed just four hits off the Pirates, who rallied for three runs in the first inning. A bunt single and a walk, followed by a double and a triple produced the three runs, which was all the Pirates needed.

Quinn Bourque (4-1) absorbed the loss on the mound for the Gators, striking out six over five innings.

"They outplayed us in every facet of the game," said Gators coach Clint Montgomery. "The highlight of our trip was the bus driver stopped at Checkers."

The Gators (9-4) host Estero on Tuesday.
