Due to a water main break, city of Cape Coral wokers have turned off the water along Southwest 20th Avenue from Trafalgar Parkway to Sothwest 22nd Terrace.
Saint Katherine Drexel Church, Trafalgar Elementary and Middle Schools, Trafalgar Woods, and Heather Woods subdivisions are affected by the main break. The water is anticipated to be off for approximately four hours as crews make repairs, city officials said in a statement released at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday.
When the main is repaired and water is back up, all homes and businesses affected will need to observe a Precautionary Boil Water. The precautionary boil advisory will be in effect until all testing of the water is completed and the Lee County Health Department has signed off on the water test results. This process will take approximately five to seven business days. The city will issue a Rescission Notice via the media as soon as the Health Department clears the water results.
