Patricia Means, 88, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2014, at her home in Fort Myers. She was born to Florence and Serge Cunningham of Ft. Wayne, Ind., May 2, 1925, and was the second of five children. She married Richard Means July 31, 1943, and together they raised five children of their own.
Dick and Pat moved to Cape Coral in 1982 where they enjoyed golf, boating and frequent visits from family and friends. After Dick's passing in 1987, Pat became more involved in the Southwest Florida Orchid Society and continued to enjoy frequent travels. She was a member of the Palmetto Pine Country Club of Cape Coral and the Burlingame Country Club of Sapphire Lakes, N.C. Her passion for golf continued when she moved to Shell Point in 2002.
She is survived by her five children, Sandy Means of Cape Coral, Cindy Kridler of Charleston S.C., Mary Ann Thomas of Cape Coral, Kati Campbell of Austin Texas, and Richard Means of Pinehurst, N.C.; her brother, Larry Cunningham of Indianapolis; six grandchildren, Becky Barnard, Nelson Barnard, Angi Kridler, Eric Campbell, James Campbell and Maggie Campbell; and two great-granddaughters, Haley Lewis and Abbie Lewis.
Memorial services will be held at 1:15 p.m., Wednesday, March 12, at The Village Church at Shell Point, at 15100 Shell Point Blvd., Fort Myers.
