Geraldine R. Johnson (Jerry), 84, of Cape Coral, passed away in the care of Hope Hospice Feb. 25, 2014. She has now reunited with her "Kenny," her husband of 40 years, who preceded her in death 25 years ago.
She was born Nov. 1, 1929, in Hamilton, Ohio, and graduated Hanover High 1947. She was proud to be resident of Lee County moving to Fort Myers Beach 50 years ago.
She is survived by sons, Mike (Linda) Johnson of Knoxville, Tenn., and Greg Johnson of Odessa, Fla.; daughter, Terry (Mike) Herr of Jupiter, Fla.; grandchildren, Todd, Jennifer, Geoff and Alyse; great-grandchildren, Chase and Nathan; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was the last of her generation, predeceased by her parents, Charles and Bertha Mullin, and sisters Edna, Charlotte and Adeline
A funeral was held Monday, March 3, at Mullins Memorial, 1056 N.E. 7th Terrace, Cape Coral, with Pastor Roger Peterson officiating. Burial followed immediately after at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens, Fort Myers,
The family wants to say many thanks to Hope Hospice in Cape Coral for its care and compassion with additional thanks to Fort Myers Nursing, who cared for her in her home and continued to care while at Hope Hospice, especially Cindy.
