Island Coast dumps North 5-1

Nikko Rodriguez drove in three runs with two base hits, including a double, Friday night to help spark Island Coast to a 5-1 victory over North Fort Myers.

Quinn Bourque (3-0) tossed a complete game, allowing four base hits while striking out nine to earn the victory on the mound. Zach Lackman contributed an RBI single to the cause.

"Tonight was the difference between preseason and the regular season," said Gators coach Clint Montgomery.

The Gators (5-1) play Monday a at Dunbar.

Mariner 9, Cypress Lake 4: Mike Patton (2-0) pitched 5 1/3 innings allowing one earned run with five strikeouts to help Mariner beat Cypress Lake Friday night.

The Tritons had four guys with two hits apiece, led by Luis Ferrer (2-for-4) with a double and two RBI. Michael Laborde, Victor Marrero and Mason Eicher were the other teammates with two hits.

The Tritons (7-1) host Golden Gate on Tuesday.

Cape Coral 6, Lely 0: Cape Coral snapped a scoreless game by scoring six runs in the sixth inning in Friday's shutout win at Lely.

Shane McClanahan started on the mound for the Seahawks and struck out 11 over five innings. Jarid Laukaitis struck out three in two innings of relief to pick up the win.

Kyle Arjona led the Seahawks with three hits and two RBI. Matt Richey added two hits and Justin Slater one base hit. Jose Valmana finished with two RBI.

The Seahawks (6-3) play at Cypress Lake on Tuesday.

Fort Myers 9, Riverdale 2: Tim Winter (3-0) tossed five-plus innings allowing two hits and striking out three to help Fort Myers beat Riverdale Friday night.

Andy Gundell led the offense with two hits, including a double, and drove in four runs. Zach Lecius contributed two hits, a double and one RBI.

The Green Wave (6-2) play at Charlotte on Tuesday.


Cape Coral 5, Lely 2: Makenzie Buss doubled and scored a run while also striking out seven to pick up her fifth win on the mound Friday night as Cape Coral held off Lely.

Mallory Guerrero contributed a base hit, a run and a stolen base for the Seahawks (5-4), who host Cypress Lake on Tuesday.

Mariner 9, Cypress Lake 4: Heather Gillions led Mariner with two hits and Lindsey Nelson doubled to back the complete-game pitching of Kaylyn Friday to beat Cypress Lake on Friday.

Oasis 19, Everglades City 6: Oasis improved to 3-3 on the season Friday with their second straight win.

Kaylee Morris led the Sharks with three doubles and two RBI. Tori Gonring, Crystal Monahan and Jenny Hernandez each contributed base hits to back winning pitcher Katie O'Connor, who tossed a no-hitter in Thursday's 17-2 win over Seacrest.

The Sharks host Island Coast on Monday.
