Darlene Elaine De Haan, 72, a resident of Cape Coral for the last year, formerly of San Clemente, Calif., passed away Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, in Cape Coral. She was born Nov. 4, 1941, in Rogers City, Mich., to Leonard and Edna Bruder, now deceased.
She was of the Christian faith. A faithful servant of God, she taught, nurtured, mentored and nudged both young and old to ask Christ into their heart. A loving wife, mother and friend, she will be greatly missed and remembered as awesome. Having now graduated, she awaits the rest of us who are Heaven bound.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 38 years, Don G. De Haan of Cape Coral; four children, Scott Cross of LaBelle, Fla., Michelle De Haan of Park City, Utah, Eric De Haan of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Kristina Endres of Fort Myers, Fla.; a brother, Ron Bruder of Lincoln, Neb.; as well as two grandchildren, Leah Cross of LaBelle and Alyssa Cross of Nashville, Tenn.; and one great-grandson, Zane.
Graveside funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, Feb. 21, at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
