Riding a four-game winning streak, the Cape Coral Seahawks (24-5) take on Bradenton Southeast Saturday night at The Nest in the Region 5A-3 Finals.

Hanging in the balance is a berth in the FHSAA?Finals at Lakeland scheduled Feb. 18-22. It would be the first final-four appearance for the Seahawks.

Junior McKenna Beach leads the Seahawks into Saturday's game averaging 18 points per game. Senior Crystal Townsend averages 14 points per game. Townsend and Samaria Jones lead the team in rebounding.

While neither of the Seahawks' previous regional performances were flawless, they have managed to keep finding ways to win games when it counts.

The Seahawks are hoping home court advantage plays a part in their bid for a trip to Lakeland.

In other weekend games, Dunbar (27-1) hosts Holy Names Friday night in the Region 4A-3 Finals. Barron Collier is the host for the Region 6A-3 Finals against Armwood.

The state wrestling finals are in Lakeland this weekend with the boys' basketball finals scheduled in two weeks.
