Mary Elko, 92, was taken home by the Lord suddenly Jan. 23, 2014. She was predeceased by her four siblings, Joseph, Anne, Mike and Agnes.
She is survived by cousins, nieces, nephews and many other family members of whom all she loved very much.
She lived a long and joyous life volunteering her time at Cape Coral Hospital. She was a devout Catholic, and until recently, an active member of St. Andrew Church, where she was a member of the choir and also a eucharistic minister. She was a member of the Catholic Council of Women, the Elks, the Italian American Club and Ladies of Red Hats. She enjoyed playing bingo and playing cards very much, especially when she would win.
A memorial service will be held in her honor at 10:30 AM on Saturday, Feb. 15, at St. Andrew Church, 2628 Del Prado Blvd., S., Cape Coral.
Inurnment will follow at Coral Ridge Cemetery, 1630 S.W. Pine Island Road, Cape Coral.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to Sacred Heart Church, 211 W. Charlotte Ave., Punta Gorda, FL 33950.
