Beverly Jeanne Davis, 79, of North Fort Myers and formerly of Argos, Ind., passed away peacefully in Wellbrooke of Wabash, Ind., Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, following a short illness.

A devoted Christian matriarch of the Davis family, she is back in the arms of her Lord and savior Jesus.

She was born June 3, 1934 in Plymouth, Ind., to Albert E. Thessin and Rachel (McCoy) Thessin.

She married James R. Davis Feb. 8, 1953, in Culver, Ind. She was the office manager for Ritz-Craft Homes, and Lobdell-Emery, both of Argos, Ind. She was a member of the Argos United Methodist Church, and a graduate of Culver High School class of 1952. She loved her family, friends and her church. She also was an award-winning shuffleboard player, competitive, but was just as excited with other players' success as her own. She loved all sports especially those that her children and grandchildren played, she was their biggest fan. She will be missed by all those she came in contact with.

Survivors include her husband James R. Davis; children, James (Melody) Davis of Argos, Ind.; Deborah (Mel) Thomas of Wabash, Ind.; Sandy Davis of Argos, Ind.; Rick (Roxanne) Davis of Granger, Ind.; Steve (Brenda) Davis of Plymouth, Ind.; and Terry (Lisa) Davis of Cicero, Ind.; as well as 11 grandchildren, Cory Davis, Stacy Thomas, Nicole Burt (Michael), Adam Davis, Gregory Davis, Ricky Davis (Kylie Shafer); Randy Davis, Matthew Davis (Alicia), Kayla Krathwohl (Karl), Dawn Ickes (Casey), and Dustin Cullen (Vicki); and nine great-grandchildren, Hannah Burt, Hudson Davis, Ella Davis, Ava Davis, Hayden Davis, Caythan Cullen, Lili Cullen, Rebekah Ickes and Sarah Ickes.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Michael Davis, June 24, 2009; and a brother, Erwin Thessin.

Memorial derives will be at the Guiding Light Church, North Fort Myers, at 1 p.m., Monday, Feb. 17.
