James Winfred Roleke, 83, of Cape Coral, formerly of Kansas City, Mo., passed away at Hospice House Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014.
Mr. Roleke was born in Kansas City, Mo., where he spent 35 years working for the KC MO School District. He graduated from CMSU with a B.S. in education, majored in Spanish & English. He attended the U. of the America in Puebla Mexico. He received his M.S. degree in education in 1972 from CMSU. He was a member of Phi Delta Kappa, Sigma Delta Pi, and he had a Foreign Language Key from CMSU.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, MaryPat Mulloy Roleke; his daughters, Barbara (Steve) Willis of Ohio, Carol Roleke/Sroor of Overland Park, Kan.; son, Mark (Mary) Roleke of St. Louis, Mo.; sister, Carol Rotert of Kansas City, Mo.; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

He was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church where he was a lector, eucharistic minister and a member of the Stewardship & Welcoming Committee. He was also a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. He volunteered at the Cape Coral Hospital, where he worked in the med. library. He enjoyed his membership in the C.C. Irish American Club as well as on two boating groups, Nauti Skippers & The Knot Skippers. Next to his family, travel and being an active member of the community were his loves.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, Feb.18, at St. Andrews Catholic Church, 2628 Del Prado Blvd., Cape Coral.
