Raymond James Moore Sr., 73, of Cape Coral and longtime resident of Lee County, formerly of Providence, R.I., passed away Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014, in Cape Coral. He was born April 22, 1940, in Providence, R.I., to William and Lillian Moore, now deceased.
He was an entrepreneur his entire life and to the day of his passing still managed his successful muffler shop (Moore's Discount Muffler) for more than 30 years. He always enjoyed fixing things and looking for new projects. He was a hard worker and the rock to many. He leaves behind his ideals of strength, courage and dedication as he instilled them in his family. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Elizabeth Moore of Cape Coral; five children, Raymond J. Moore Jr. (Robin) of Tamarac, Fla., Bruce R. Moore of Delray Beach, Fla., Darlene T. Moore-Boyles of Lehigh Acres, Ronald J. Moore of Lehigh Acres and Roger J. Moore, of Lantana, Fla.; two sisters, Carol Joan Young of Boca Raton, Fla., and Diane Yidiaris (Angelo) of N. Attleboro, Mass.; one brother, Bernie Moore of Providence, R.I.; as well as eight grandchildren, Christina, Nichole, Michael, Mathew, Melanie, Katy, Brandy and Terry James.

A time of remembrance will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 15, at the family residence.
