February 11, 2014
Cape Coral Daily Breeze

The city of Cape Coral will host a public meeting at Mariner Middle School today at 5:30 p.m. to discuss a grant application for a sidewalk project near the Mariner schools on Chiquita Boulevard.

The city and the Lee County School District will be applying for a Safe Routes to School grant to retrofit the area on Chiquita Boulevard from north of Tropicana Parkway to Northwest 11th Street and on Northwest 11th Terrace from Chiquita Boulevard to the Northwest Softball Complex.

Mariner Middle School is at 425 Chiquita Boulevard.

The Safe Routes to School grant funding program is provided through the Florida Department of Transportation. The funding is available to build sidewalks within two miles of schools.
