Southwest Florida Yachts has introduced Yacht Watch, a complete and professional management service for power and sail yachts moored at Tarpon Point Marina.
Those services include:
- Yacht wash a monthly wash down of the topsides, from toe rail up
- Yacht check monthly start and run engines and generator; check boat systems and report to owner. This "pre-flight-type check can also be schedule just prior to cruising
- Yacht detail a compound buff and wax topsides and/or hull
- Yacht maid interior cleaning, including heads, galley, lockers, etc. Service may also include drop off/pickup of laundry, canvas delivery/pickup for repair as well as provisioning in which the owner orders from and it is delivered by Publix. Deliveries will be stowed on board.
Barb Hansen and her husband, Vic, established Southwest Florida Yachts in 1984 and offer power and sail yacht charters, power and sail classes and brokerage services. Charters are available on sail and power yachts from approximately 30-50 feet and include trawlers, motor yachts and sailing vessels. All company operations are based at Tarpon Point Marina.

Basinait chair of firm's Land Use & Environmental Law Practice

Wright Construction Group completes FDOT roadway improvement project
Wright Construction Group has completed a $10.55 million Florida Department of Transportation roadway improvement project on U.S. 41 (State Road 90) in December, five months ahead of schedule, announced construction project manager Robbie Powell. Work began in September 2012.
The road stretches 32.3 miles from SR 29 in Collier County to the Miami-Dade County line. This section of U.S. 41 runs through Big Cypress National Preserve, skirting the northern border of Everglades National Park for about 20 miles.
The project involved safety improvements to guardrails, milling and resurfacing of shoulders, base work, shoulder widening from two feet to four feet, turnouts, bridge rail retrofit and signing and pavement markings

Offshore Sailing School to celebrate 50 years in business
Offshore Sailing School Chairman Steve Colgate has announced a yearlong celebration commemorating the 50-year-old sailing school.
Headquartered in Fort Myers, with eight sailing vacation and commuter locations, the school has taught more than 130,000 adults and their families to sail or hone their sailing skills since Colgate, an Olympian and America's Cup sailor, founded it in 1964.
The sailing school has planned a year filled activities, special programs and contests. The celebration begins with a contest open to everyone who has had an on-water experience with Offshore Sailing School.
