Eva Schloss, Anne Frank’s stepsister, to speak at Chabad Jewish Center

January 10, 2014
Cape Coral Daily Breeze

The Chabad Jewish Center of Cape Coral will be hosting a program featuring Anne Frank's stepsister, Eva Schloss, Tuesday Feb. 25, at the Westin Cape Coral Resort at Marina Village. "Learning from the past. Living the Present. Looking to the Future" is the theme of this event and it promises to be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Like her stepsister, Schloss went into hiding in Holland, was betrayed, captured and sent to the Auschwitz-Birkenau death camp. Listen to a firsthand account of the discovery and printing of Anne Frank's famed diary to glean insight into the life and times of Eva and Anne.

Schloss is a trustee of the Anne Frank Educational Trust, has published two books and is the subject of James Still's play "And Then They Came for Me:" Remembering the World of Anne Frank."

This event will feature a VIP cocktail reception where guests will have the opportunity to meet Schloss. Her book will be available for purchase at the event and she will autograph them after the lecture and question-and-answer session.

This event is open to the entire community.

For additional information and to purchase tickets, visit www.chabadcape.com/HistoricEvent or call the Chabad Jewish Center at 541-1777.
