Baker goes down on last second free throws 38-36

Two free throws in the final second Friday night lifted Sarasota to a 38-36 victory over Ida Baker.

Kevin Acevedo and Nick Benvie tallied 14 points apiece to lead the Bulldogs (3-9), who host Cape Coral Monday at 4:30 p.m.

Baker led most of the game before Sarasota went into a stall offense in the third quarter. That resulted in a mere 20 total points scored in the second half.

The game came down to a last-second shot on which the Sarasota player was fouled and hit the free throws to win it.
