Free throws proved to be the difference Thursday night as Venice came from behind to edge Ida Baker 49-44.
The Bulldogs led by as many as 10 points in the first half and held a 41-40 lead with two minutes to play. That's when Venice converted its free throw attempts and Baker didn't.
In the fourth quarter, the Bulldogs went 1-for-5 at the line compared to the Vikings' 9-for-11.
Derrick Loza topped the Bulldogs in scoring with 20 points with Chris Snyder adding eight.
The Bulldogs (3-8) are idle until Jan. 3 when they take on Sarasota.
