Tax increases should be approved by those who pay them
To the editor:
Why do I feel as though I am the only one that objects to the tax increases here in Cape Coral? Why can't the Cape Coral tax increases be put to a vote of the taxpayers?
I talked to my council member when the first electric assessment tax was added and he whined and played poor mouth. Combined, these two assessments add up to a 10 percent increase on/or over my property tax bill. That amount of tax increase should demand/require voter approval.
I truthfully feel violated!
