William Karl Vetter, 96, of Cape Coral passed away Monday, Dec. 9, 2013. He was born March 10, 1917, to Emil and Caroline Doll Vetter in Cleveland, Ohio. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Maritime Service. He moved to Cape Coral from Hinckley, Ohio, in 1979. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Cape Coral, and the Sportsman Yacht and Sailing Club.

He is survived by his loving family including his children, William (Bonnie) Vetter, Walter Vetter, Lillian (Stanley) Herron and Warren (Charlotte) Vetter; 10 grandchildren, Robert (Jane) Vetter, Shelley (Monty) Reid, Adam (Linda) Vetter, Jason Vetter, Tiffany (Josh) Zellner, Joyce (Wolf) Kruger, Richard (Missy) Imars, Cassie (Adam) Garn, Seth Vetter and Andrew Herron; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Gladys, and granddaughter, Dawn Hrdlicka.

A funeral will be at 11 a.m., today, at Coral Ridge Funeral Home, 1630 Pine Island Road, Cape Coral, with burial to follow at Coral Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m.
