Charlotte Nadine Smothers, 78, of West Frankfort, Ill., passed away Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013, in Cape Coral. She was born Sept. 11, 1935, in West Frankfort, Ill., to Oran and Irene (Hall) Underwood, now deceased.
She was a loving mother and grandmother. She worked 40 years for the Veterans Administration. She loved growing roses, collecting lighthouses and visiting the ocean. Once of her favorite places to visit was Sanibel Island.
She is survived by her six children, Michael (Michele) Wilson of Cape Coral, Richard (Debra) Wilson of Broughton, Ill., Timothy (Lori) Wilson of Broughton, Ill., Tamara (Jim) Bonner of Loganville, Ga., Stephen (Amy) Wilson of Broughton, St. Louis, Mo., and Kendra (Troy) Hafford of Loganville, Ga.; 22 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty (Jim) Starr; and one brother, Paul Morris.
She was preceded in death by her infant son, Kevin Wilson; a grandson, Zachary Bishop; a brother, Richard Morris; and a daughter-in-law, Mary Lou Wilson.
She is sadly missed by her family.
