Rush to judgment

November 27, 2013
Cape Coral Daily Breeze

To the editor:

"He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone." John 8.7.

Wouldn't you know it: The self-righteous Lee County and Collier County Republican Executive Committees have asked Republican 19th District Congressman, Trey Radel to resign? I would expect nothing less from their inept leadership. Their rationale in asking him to resign, in fact, may have more to do with Congressman Radel's defeat of some of them in the primary and them seeing this opportunity to claim the seat that they believe should have been theirs. They are like buzzards in the Florida sky looking down at their new-found carrion.

How has the elitist group of "problem solvers" in the Republican Party done recently? Let's see, it was the neo-con mad bomber, John McCain, who was our 2008 presidential candidate and then it was the vulture capitalist Mitt Romney, a pimp for the Military Industrial Complex who snatched defeat out of the jaws of victory in 2012.

Trey Radel, you have no right to resign. Everyone in this country has had their problems. If you can handle the problem you have now you can handle anything. I refuse to allow you to resign. Take care of yourself, then go back to Congress and do the job you were elected to do by the average people of your district.
